Fischer supplied about 50,000 Highbond anchors FHB II (AL 12 x 120/25 and AL 16 x 160/30) for the Burj Khalifa, which was inaugurated at the beginning of 2010. A heavy steel subconstruction was fixed to one part of the shopping mall. It carries a façade of prefabricated concrete. The responsible engineers decided to install the FHB II because of the required high shear force load rating and the better suitability against earthquakes, because of the higher anchorage depth compared to conventional anchor bolts. Known as Burj Dubai it is the tallest building in the world with a total hight of 828 m. It was designed by the architects of Skidmore Owings und Merrill (SOM) from New York.
